ABOUT THE FLOSSIE STORY
Flossie was a story written many years ago by my cousin, Robyn.
She was eight years old at the time and lived in a small Northern Ontario town, north of the 49th parallel.
Winters were often long and cold. At times, the snow would appear
in late October and accumulate steadily until mid April. The children, as most children do, looked forward to playing in the snow.
This particular winter, the children waited and waited but the snow
did not come until much later in the season. Robyn wrote a story about this and incorporated a little heroine called "Flossie".
Flossie was a snowflake with an adventurous spirit, not unlike the author. Robyn writes about this brave little snowflake who leaves her friends in the heavens and ventured forth to discover the world. Here she encounters a grumpy old cloud, an imposing dark forest, a playful north wind, a helpful bunny and many sad little children. Flossie manages to help her new friends and bring a little happiness to their small town.
